The following are common questions we receive from our web site users experiencing difficulties with the login page.
If you are continually prompted to login, with the message "session timed out," then your web browser is not receiving the website's cookies. The website requires that your web browser accept cookies.
To correct this problem, first verify that your web browser is configured to accept, not block, web site cookies. If your security standards preclude outright acceptance of cookies, then perhaps you can enable cookie notification in your web browser and accept the website's cookies when prompted.
If the problem persists, then a firewall or other security application (e.g., anti-virus, anti-spyware) may be preventing the cookies from reaching your web browser. Inspect the configuration of any firewalls or security applications you employ to be certain that you will accept cookies from www.DistinguishedYW.org and passed to your web browser.
Select "Recover Password" from the login page and supply your e-mail address where prompted. If your e-mail address corresponds to a Distinguished Young Women account, the system will email your password to the respective address.
If the password recovery system reports that it has delivered your password but you do not recieve the corresponding e-mail message, then your e-mail account is probably the victim of over-aggressive spam filters. Consult our e-mail instructions for help with your specific ISP (e.g., AOL, Yahoo!) and software (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird).
If your email account does not correspond to a Distinguished Young Women account, you must contact your appropriate Junior Miss chairperson for personalized assistance.
Distinguished Young Women online community accounts are available only to bone fide members of the Distinguished Young Women family. This includes contestants, staff and volunteers at any local, state or national program, past or present. If you meet this requirement and haven't received an invitation, then please contact your appropriate program chairperson for assistance.
